Ayla lefkowitz is a Toronto-based spoken word artist, educator and social entrepreneur. She is the Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of CANVAS Arts Action Programs, a non-profit organization that educates on gender equity, consent and LGBTQ2S+ inclusion. Ayla is a graduate of McGill University and the London School of Economics with an MSc in Health, Community and Development. In 2017, Ayla won first place at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word along with her Toronto Poetry Slam team, and recently published her first book of poetry titled Armour. Her poetry is passionate and honest, with vulnerability as one of its greatest strengths. Through poetry and movement, Ayla uses her platform to challenge stigma about sexual violence, mental health, and armpit hair.
